Almeira fullback appeals to VAR three times for unfair treatment.

 “It seems like someone has decided the outcome of the game.”

Spain's Mundo Deportivo reported on the 22nd (Korean time) that "Almeria defender Marc Fouville was dissatisfied with the result of the game."

Almeria lost 2-3 to Real Madrid in the 21st round of La Liga in the 2023-2024 season held at the Santiago Bernabeu in Madrid, Spain, on the 22nd. 

Almeria took the lead early with Raj Ramazani's goal in the first minute of the first half, and took a 2-0 lead with an additional goal from Edgar González in the 43rd minute of the first half. 

Real Madrid was not a soft opponent. In the 12th minute of the second half, Jude Bellingham scored a goal with a penalty kick, and Vinicius Jr. scored the equalizer in the 22nd minute of the second half. In extra time in the second half, Dani Carvajal added a goal, and Almeria lost 2-3.

It was a difficult game for Almeria to understand. Jose Hernández, the referee of this match, conducted video review (VAR) three times in this match.

The first VAR was the penalty kick scene, the second was the scene where Almeria winger Sergio Arribas' goal was canceled, and the last was Vinicius' goal.

Particularly controversial was the scene where Vinicius scored, where he competed with two defenders inside the penalty box and pushed the ball with his shoulder. Depending on the viewing angle, it was a scene that could have been seen as a handball foul.

However, referee Hernández awarded the goal after VAR. In 2020, the International Football Association Board (IFAB) set the 'T-shirt line' as the standard for determining whether it is a handball when the ball is hit between the arm and shoulder. In other words, it was ruled that it was not a handball because the ball hit the upper part of Vinicius' sleeve.

In an interview with sports streaming platform DAZN, Pouville was dejected, saying, "It seems like someone decided we couldn't win at the Bernabeu. That's what happened."
